Everything you need to know about Wet Wednesday is on this page...
Wet Wednesday is the weekly pool party at Raindance Hostel on Isla Ometepe, Nicaragua. Bringing together backpackers, DJ's and drinking games there is no better way to spend a Wednesday.
Every week at 3pm the party kicks off with a Beer Pong Competition! Its free to enter and the beer is free!
As the afternoon progresses so do the games. Rage Cage often follows Beer Pong then it can evolve into anything from Giant Jenga to Flunkyball or Killer Pool.
All games are free and there's prizes to be won.
Get involved!
Wet Wednesday wouldn't be the same without it's weekly fire performances by Infinity Fire.
The main fire show starts at 7.40pm sharp and goes on for 20 minutes. Later in the evening further mini performances spring up around the swimming pool.
Our kitchen is open as usual on a Wednesday from 7am until 10pm. The menu is condensed in the evening for the Wet Wednesday event but still sells the best selling items such as pizza, burgers, curries and buddha bowls! All at a very reasonable price.
However you like them served...
Raindance offers two separate bars on Wet Wednesday. There is always a drinks special on the rum punch. We also have a wide range of cocktails, shots and mix drink available as well as smoothies and natural juices. Click here to see the full menu.
If you are looking for a professional tattoo artist look no further. Rafa from Bella Ciao Tattoo studio offers his services inside the party every Wednesday night.
OR...
For those with a little more courage Raindance is one of the only bars in the world that will rent a tattoo machine to its patrons! For only US$15 a turn it's well worth it. The tattoo rentals is how we coined our slogan "RAINDANCE - BECAUSE THE WORST DECISIONS MAKE THE BEST STORIES"
Of course Wet Wednesday is most famous for its dancefloor! If you're a fan of a Jaguar Head DJ Booth that breathes real fire, light shows and smoke machines then you'll probably like the poolside setup we have. Splash in the water and throw shapes on the dance floor. That's what Wet Wednesday is all about.
A typical night would start with some disco or funky house, even some pop classics get thrown in there. Moving up the BPMs to some floor filling latin house and tech house bangers and then, depending on the crowd, we throw some UKG, DnB & Jungle, Techno and even a sprinkle of Reggaeton from time to time. Special event nights usually bring a saxophone player or electro violinist into the mix!
We have resident DJ's who are excellent at reading the crowd and we vet and hand pick the travelling DJ's to make sure they fit the vibe.
If you are a travelling DJ and would like to play a set in the infamous Panther DJ booth please write to us on the whatsapp number below.

Can I pre book my ticket to Wet Wednesday?
The only way to pre book your ticket to Wet Wednesday is to book a bed in the hostel. Outside guests cannot pre book tickets but can pay cash on the entry.
What time does the party start?
The party starts at 3pm and it's the best time to arrive there. The entry fee is cheaper before 5pm AND there are free beers for anyone playing the 3pm drinking games. We often offer a free rum punch for the 3pm arrivals as well.
What time does the party finish?
The music and bar close at 1am sharp and non hostel guests will be asked to leave at this time.
Can I bring my own alcohol?
No, we have a fully licenced bar so outside drinks are not allowed in the event.
How can I get there? Is there public transport?
We are located in the Santa Cruz area of Isla Ometepe which is the center of the backpacker zone. If you aren't staying at Raindance please be aware when booking accommodation that the island is huge! It is a 45 minute taxi (or 1.5 hours on a chicken bus) from the port town of Moyogalpa. We recommend shared taxis if you are staying anywhere that isn't within a walking distance. Some local buses operate in the day time but they are rather slow and quite infrequent . Click here to whatsapp a local taxi on the island.
How many people are at the event?
This depends on the season but as an average you can expect 150 - 250 people at the event.
Are children allowed?
As a general rule children are not allowed at Wet Wednesday. It's an adult event.
Can I eat there?
Absolutely! Our kitchen is open all day.
Do you have information about how to get to the Island?

Do you know where I can rent a scooter or ATV?
We sure do. Check this page out Scooter & ATV Rentals in Isla Ometepe
